Finally we are able to offer a top quality Navigator and we’re quite thrilled with her!
This is a yacht for passage makers, for those embracing quality over high top speeds and for those that want a true live-aboard in the comfort this trawler family yacht can offer.
There are times when I board a boat for the first time, and move into the salon, that I just have to stop, look around, and take it all in. This is what I call the “wow factor” . . . . when I am simply taken aback by those immediate impressions, and there seems to be nothing else to say but wow! The Navigator 4400 is one of those boats.
The wow factor on this boat comes from a combination of the integration of space starting with heavy protected aft door and thick grp of the aft cockpit, moving through the satin blacked glass sliding door, into a very luxurious and spacious, open planned salon, dining and galley, all topped off by spectacular décor with luxurious finishes, a sensational range of inclusions, impeccable craftsmanship, and a layout that is one of the best to be found in a boat under 50 feet.
A feature loved by many is a fully open galley directly connected to the L-shaped leather dinette in the slightly raised pilothouse. It is here where all magic happens, it is here where you have your family around you in cold weather and cozy evenings. From the ships chef to family, guests and of course captain can all enjoy the wide views a circumnavigator only offers.
This all, however, does come at a far over a million price, when new, so luckily we can offer this boat a little more cheaper. When all things are taken into consideration, there is value for money both in a boat that performs well and has more comforts than any other boat of this size can offer.
Engine wise the yard ticked the exact right box by installing non-digital Volvo Penta 6-in-line that have an expected life span of 50.000 hours! These nearly indestructible engines will give you endless pleasure! Maintaining these work horses is done with a screw driver and some oil. To complete the yard installed the worlds best generator that is normally only seen on megayachts. The Northern Lights 25kw genset is an absolute joy and not only because is constructed that well but the absence of sound is to embrace.
The design brief for this Navigator 4400 was to create a motor yacht that would be best in its class, with uncompromising quality in engineering, equipment, detail and finish.
The hand finished joinery with precise matching of veneers on all bulkheads, cabinet and locker doors is impeccable, and with the joinery being handmade alongside each boat in the factory, every component is precisely fitted – this is essential when there is so much curved joinery with intricate detailing for the junction of trims and finishes.
Even something as simple as the shower isn’t overlooked. These showers don’t seem to have any of those annoying gaps down each side or along the base where water so easily could leak out over the floor.
Out in the cockpit, the design; the molding, and the construction of the rope, fender and other storage lockers and hatches including the fixing of the hinges and catches, is first class. There are no rough edges; no flow coated interiors; no screw fixings, with bolts and inserts holding things in place.
The integration of a structural framing grid within the flybridge deck/salon head enables the flybridge deck to extend beyond the rear of the aft cockpit without the need for any aft struts or other form of support. You can easily throw a dinghy with outboard there as well. This gives full protection to the cockpit without giving any sense of enclosure.
Flybridge access is provided with a fully integrated staircase from the rear cockpit. Very user friendly, with the wide, easy going, non-slip steps providing a comfortable means to get up to the flybridge. With solid handrails and easy going design, these stairs would suit anyone.
Our Navigator 4400 is a full four berths plus two and does provide the owner with a very spacious midships stateroom. This cabin is more than adequate, with a large double island berth, room to move about, abundant storage and hanging space -where you literally can walk in-, and high quality furnishings, inclusions and finish. A very well designed “en-suite” bath with super large fully enclosed shower completes the owners stateroom.
The same can be said of the other cabin with its full island berth raised in her bow. Clever done is level of height to provide not only an all American size berth, but also to gain space for the underneath placed washing machine and tumble dryer. Needless to say that a walk in closet and a true ensuite bath are found here as well.
Climate control air conditioning is fitted throughout the interior – a system for the cabins, bathrooms and the utility room off the galley, and another one for the main salon and raised pilothouse.
The lower helm station is equipped with all you need for long voyages and besides of the already good Raymarine package there’s a Windows computer with own GPS for your comfort. An AIS is also fitted.
We have upgraded the light, sound and entertainment system on this stock boat, with top of the range Bose 321 audio system, radio and a 32” TV screen in the salon. All cabins have their own volume control knob, very handy indeed. Furthermore we find recessed LED lights in the corridor steps, the flybridge steps and cockpit that are spectacular at night.
The bathing platform includes other finishing touches such as hot/cold shower and a heavy duty stainless steel swim/boarding platform rails.
To finish, I’m going to use a very old and often overused summation and say that the Navigator yard has not wasted a millimetre of space throughout this boat. Built-in storage can be found everywhere, and spatial priorities given to areas that are the most important, without doing so at a cost elsewhere.
The craftmanship and attention to detail is exceptional and this, along with the extensive list of equipment and fit-out, is reflected in the bottom line.
Our Navigator 4400 carries a superb price tag and has that “wow factor”.
